Andhra Pradesh Tourism And Tourist Attractions


This state is widely advertised as the Kohinoor of India by the tourism department. The state is most visited for its world famous Tirupati temple. Srisailam Mallikarjuneswar temple is another famous Shiva shrine and is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples in India.

Srikalahasti temple, situated 36 km away from Tirupati is famous for its Vayu linga, one of the Panchabhoota Sthalams, representing wind. The temple is also regarded as Rahu-Ketu kshetra and Dakshina Kailasam.

Sri Kalahasti is famous for its Vayu linga, representing wind. This is one of the very famous Shiva temple located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India at a distance of about 36 km from the well-known Tirupati temple.

which is the only shrine of the god of wind in India. Constructed in the 12th century by the Chola king, Rajarajendra, Vayu is incarnated as Lord Shiva and worshipped as Kalahasteeswara. This is an important temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Amaravati is a historical town that was once the capital of the Satavahana kingdom. The Satavahana dynasty ruled the region for four centuries. During this period Amaravati emerged as a major center of Buddhist art and culture. The Amaravati Museum in Amaravati is an amazing repository of relics that have been gathered from the ruins of this 2000 year old Buddhist settlement as well as from nearby places which were also under the influence of this religion.

The greatest attraction of the Amaravati Museum is the tall and elegant bronze statue of Lord Buddha. It probably belongs to the 8th century A.D and was excavated from the south eastern part of the Deccan. The sculptural dexterity revealed in the statue is commendable. The robes of the Buddha are not very distinctly visible. His right shoulder is bare. From the right hand of the Buddha it appears as though he wants to do some charitable act. This kind of gesture of charity is referred to as Varadamudra. The statue is admirable.


Ananthagiri Hills is located at Vikarabad district, Telangana, India. The water flows from these hills to Hussain Sagar and Himayathsagar. It is one of the dense forests in Telangana. Ananthagiri Temple is located in this forested area. It is the Birthplace of Musi river.

What is the best time to visit Ananthagiri Hills? Ananthagiri experiences pleasant weather throughout the year with temperature varying from 16 to 22 degrees Celcius during winters. Hence, the ideal time to pack your backs and take a trip to this mesmerizing place is between the months of October and March.

Ramappa Temple also known as the Ramalingeswara temple, is located 77 km from Warangal, the ancient capital of the Kakatiya dynasty,15km from Mulugu, 209 km from Hyderabad in the state of Telangana in southern India.

Ramappa Temple is an ancient temple which was built in the 12th century, during the rule of the Kakatiyas. This temple is constructed in the South Indian architectural style and is devoted to Lord Shiva. The Shiva Lingam in this temple, has been installed on a star shaped platform and is 6 ft high.
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is believed to have been constructed over a period of 40 years. It was built by General Recherla Rudra during the period of the Kakatiya ruler Ganapati Deva.

The Ramoji Film City in India is located in Hyderabad. Spread over 1666 acres, it is the largest integrated film city in the world and as such has been certified by the Guinness World Records as the largest studio complex in the world. It was built by Telugu film producer Ramoji Rao in 1996.

The best time to visit Ramoji Film City is during winter as Hyderabad gets very hot during summers. You should visit Ramoji Film City from October to February, when the weather is cool and at its best.
